The 118th gridiron meeting between the University of Missouri and the University of Kansas Nov. 28, 2009, was one of the most memorable games of the nation’s second longest-running rivalry. As time expired, sophomore kicker Grant Ressel’s 27-yard field goal nudged the Tigers past the Jayhawks 41-39 at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Mo. The teams combined for 1,100 yards of offense and nine touchdowns as 70,072 fans enjoyed the unseasonably warm 66-degree kickoff temperature. Missouri (8-4, 4-4) handed Kansas (5-7, 1-7) its seventh straight loss of the season and moved the Tigers ahead in the Border Showdown series 55-54-9.
