Napoleon A. Chagnon and Martin Daly hired.
From 1964 to 1995, Chagnon did groundbreaking fieldwork in southern Venezuela on the Yanomamö tribe. Chagnon, who retired from the University of California–Santa Barbara in 1999, chose MU because its anthropology department emphasizes evolutionary science. In 2011, Daly retired as professor emeritus of psychology, neuroscience and behavior at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. MU’s department is “one of the most consistently science‐minded and one of the best” in the country, he says.
